$10K Thready Competition

Rockhampton may be best known as the Barra Capital but the Fitzroy River (Tunuba) is also home to some monster hard-fighting king threadfin, making Rocky the perfect destination for keen anglers to get in on Fishing The Fitzroy's $10K Thready Comp.

ABOUT the competition

Fishing The Fitzroy's $10K Thready Competition is an annual comp open to anglers of all skill levels, from novices to experts with a $10,000 cash prize up for grabs to the first person to catch a tagged king threadfin in the Fitzroy River.

The annual competition runs from 1 November through to mid-night 31 January each year and is free to enter.

Keep an eye on the Fishing The Fitzroy Facebook page for updates on future competitions.

It's been fantastic to see both locals and visitors get out on the water and share their catches on social media. There were certainly some decent sized threadies caught over the competition periods!
