Pup Crawl

Here is the official guide to pampering your pooch, Rock’HAMPTON’ style if you’re hitting the road with your fur baby!

Rockhampton has a number of pet-friendly cafes and restaurants in and around the beautiful Riverside Precinct so you and your pooches can enjoy our great food scene right in the heart of the city. Check out the following who have great street side dining available:

Coffee Society | The Goat Café & Bar | Riverston Tea Rooms | Boathouse | Dingles Café Bar | Birdies Espresso.

P.S. Birdies Espresso not only know how to serve us humans with a decent coffee, but also make a mean puppycino with bacon bits. No joke, it’s been tested by Archie here.

No doubt the pooches have been in the car for a few hours so it’s time to let them run wild.

If you’re coming into town from the Dee Ranges, be sure to grab a pie from the Mount Morgan Bakery and pull up at The No.7 Dam. This park has picturesque natural views, BBQ facilities, a great undercover playground and a large area to let your dog’s off leash.

On the Southside of Rockhampton, Victoria Park is a paradise for the pups. Choose from a stroll down the lush Huish Drive riverfront walk, or pull up in the large off leash Dog Park.

On the Northside of Rockhampton, the 123 acre Kershaw Gardens is the perfect place to stretch the legs (pooches included). There are a number of on-leash trails that weave between the beautifully manicured gardens and past many buildings that pay respect to the history of Rockhampton, as well as an off leash agility park for those that like to show off their skills a little more.

Like all of us, our hair tends to get a bit ratty while on holidays, and it’s really no different for our four legged friends so it’s only fair to treat them with a pamper session. PawKids is a one stop shop for pampering and indulging them in all the finer things that they have to offer. Did we mention they also have day care available if you’re in need of a day off without the furbabies?

If you’d like to remember your trip to Rock’HAMPTON’, then there is only one way to do it properly! A photoshoot, obviously. Jessica Hansen offers photoshoot’s for dogs of all shapes and sizes.
