Lived experience

Everything you would expect from a metropolitan airport (minus the aerobridge). Clean and easy to access toilet and shower amenities and café/bar areas, within and outside of the secure areas. There is an access lift to the viewing platform if awaiting friends and family. Whilst the terminal is modern, the airport is small enough that the staff checking you in and understanding your travel requirements are likely to be the same crew members assisting you to the aircraft from the gate, building a sense of familiarity.

The distance between the pick-up/drop-off and the terminal is short with clearly signposted and ample disability parking spaces and only a short distance to Rockhampton CBD.

Lived experience

From the rich rail history of the region to the current infrastructure that supports commuter and heavy industry rail, this remains one of the major arteries in the region. Accessible parking is conveniently and closely placed as what you would expect from a regional transport hub, with the distance and slope between here and the station presenting little concern. The station has a wide platform while you wait to dis/embark, and the variable heights of the commuter trains is matched by many ramp options onsite with the QR staff are always on hand to assist. Off of the main platform also, you’ll find the accessible bathroom to freshen up before or after your journey.
