Ready for a fishing adventure with a twist? Rocky's Ultimate Cash Catch is calling all anglers to the famous Fitzroy River. This fishing competition puts the spotlight on one of our local stars – the King Threadfin Salmon – and gives you the chance to land some impressive prizes along the way.

What's the Catch?

Here's why you'll want to get your line in the water:

The Big One: Catch a tagged King Threadfin Salmon between 1 November 2025 and 31 January 2026, and you'll net yourself a cool $20,000.

Off-season bonus: Hook a tagged fish outside the main competition period (from 1 February to 31 October 2026), and you’ll land a $2,500 prize package.

Participation prize: All registered anglers who are members of Frenchville Sports Club go into the draw for a $1,000 prize package, drawn at the end of the event.

How to Get Involved

Pop over to frenchvillesportsclub.com.au and register for free.
Grab your gear and head to the Fitzroy – there are 36 tagged threadies swimming about.
Lucky enough to catch a tagged fish? Call InfoFish on 1800 077 001 and quote the tag’s serial number to claim your prize.

Why King Threadfin?

We all know the Fitzroy's famous for its barra, but the King Threadfin Salmon deserves some love too. These hard-fighting fish offer great sport outside of barra season, making Fishing the Fitzroy a year-round affair.
