Witness history as the Rockhampton Zoo celebrates 100 years as well as the opening of the new Rockhampton Botanic Gardens and Zoo Visitor Hub.

The celebrations will take place on Thursday, 3 July from 9am to 12.30pm and will feature a range of free activities including:

Make your own bee hotel workshop
Make your own bee-friendly garden workshop
Plant, nature passport and commemorative pen giveaway
Kids badge making and decorating canvas reusable bags
Photo opportunities for the kids with people in animal costumes
Meerkat encounter raffle
Free ice cream and cake as part of the zoo anniversary and hub opening
Kids face painting
Keeper roaming with a snake

About the Rockhampton Botanic Gardens and Zoo Visitor Hub

The new Rockhampton Botanic Gardens and Zoo Visitor Hub features a new official entrance to the zoo, which has been decorated with stunning statues including eagle, kangaroos and koalas. Visitors can view some of the zoo's amazing reptiles that are now on display in eye-catching glass enclosures installed along the hub wall. Other additions also include new electronic donation points, public toilets and an expansive multi-purpose room to be used for meetings and community programs.
